Android 17 (One UI 9) on a Galaxy S26
Last week, Samsung announced that it in coordination with Google, it was pausing updates for the Google Play System on the Galaxy S26 units running the beta version of One UI 9.0 (Android 17) for a while.
Now, the two brands seem to have resumed updates, as a new Google Play System update has become available for the Galaxy S26 units running One UI 9.0 beta. It is 12MB in size and dated July 1, 2026 (via Kailash).
As usual, Google hasn’t provided a changelog for the update. You can get it by going to Settings > Security and privacy > Updates > Google Play System update.
Speaking of One UI updates for the Galaxy S26 series, yesterday Samsung released the fifth beta version of the new software for it. You can read more about it here.
