Galaxy Z Fold 8 series tipped to cross 5 million preorders, setting a new record

Samsung, just a few days after opening preorders for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Flip 8, announced that the new foldables had achieved record-breaking preorder numbers. Now that the preorder period has ended, shipping has begun, and the devices are available for purchase, we have an estimate of how many units the brand may have sold during the preorder phase.

According to popular tipster Ice Universe on X, Samsung is estimated to have received between 4.7 million and 5.2 million preorders for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series. Of those, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 alone is said to account for around 2.9 million units, representing roughly 59% of total Galaxy Z Fold 8 series preorders. If accurate, these would be the highest preorder figures ever for Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold lineup.

The demand for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Flip 8 has reportedly been so strong across multiple markets, including South Korea, that Samsung is struggling to keep up. As a result, delivery timelines in several regions have slipped beyond the dates the company initially promised.

Among the three models, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 appears to be the most popular. Demand is said to be particularly strong for the Pistachio color, with the 256GB variant already going out of stock in some markets.
