The most interesting of the three upcoming Samsung foldable phones is the Galaxy Z Fold 8, thanks to its wider form factor. However, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra will be the most feature-rich model and priciest model. It is also rumored could come with display brightness upgrades.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra could have a brighter foldable screen

A leakster has claimed on X that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra uses a foldable OLED panel with a peak brightness of up to 3,600 nits. If this information is accurate, the foldable screen will be 1,000 nits brighter than the one used in the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The panel could still use the older M13 OLED emissive material and reportedly lacks the Privacy Display feature that debuted with the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

Samsung could use the same display specifications for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 as well, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet. Both phones are rumored to feature a virtually crease-free display.
