Last month, Samsung unveiled its latest Android customisation for Galaxy smartphones and tablets, One UI 9.0 (Android 17). Since then, the brand has been developing it for various devices. Now, the company seems to be working on the new software for one more phone, the Galaxy A56.

A firmware file for the Galaxy A56 featuring One UI 9.0 has been spotted on Samsung’s server for the first time (via Tarun Vats). It carries firmware version A566BXXUBDZFB. This suggests that the tech giant is developing the new software for the phone, and its release is now one step closer.

One UI 9.0, even though it is based on a new version of Android, isn’t as big an upgrade visually or feature-wise as One UI 8.5. It doesn’t bring visual upgrades, but it packs more customisation options as well as a few new features. You can check out the complete changelog here

Samsung launched the Galaxy A56 with One UI 7 and promised to offer it six major OS upgrades. So far, the brand has provided it with two major OS updates, One UI 8.0 and One UI 8.5. After rolling out One UI 9.0, the phone will still be eligible to get three newer versions of One UI/Android.
