Samsung hasn't made any big upgrades to the battery capacity and charging speed of its Galaxy Z Flip foldable phones for some time now. That may not happen with this year's iteration as well.
A new rumor claims that the Galaxy Z Flip 8 battery capacity and charging speed will remain exactly the same as the Galaxy Z Flip 7.
Samsung is rumored to equip the Galaxy Z Flip 8 with the same 4,300mAh battery as the model it's going to replace. Since the scope of other upgrades is likely to be minor as well, this would have been one upgrade that customers would have liked to see.
It's also claimed that the company is going to keep the charging speed at 25W. This is not just the same as last year, rather, the last time Samsung upgraded the charging speed on its foldable flip phone was in 2022 when the Galaxy Z Flip 4 arrived with 25W fast charging.
Fans of the lineup can still expect improvements to the chipset, keep their fingers crossed for faster storage, and potentially some camera improvements. These crucial upgrades, however, that directly impact the user experience, are likely to be held back and possibly introduced with the Galaxy Z Flip 9 in 2027.
Expect more rumors and leaks about the Galaxy Z Flip 8 to emerge in the coming weeks. Samsung is expected to launch its new foldable devices in the second half of this year. The Unpacked event for these devices is said to take place in London this time around.
