Most people know Samsung for its home appliances, smartphones, tablets, and TVs, but it is also the world’s leading gaming monitor brand. The company has held the top position in the global gaming monitor market for seven consecutive years, which is an incredibly impressive achievement.
According to the latest data from International Data Corporation (IDC), Samsung captured 18.9 percent of the global gaming monitor market by revenue, securing the number one position. It also ranked first in the global OLED gaming monitor segment, maintaining that lead for three consecutive years.
Samsung continues to introduce new display technologies each year. Earlier this year, the company unveiled new Odyssey series gaming monitors, including the Odyssey G6 (G60H) and the Odyssey OLED G6 (G61SH).
The Odyssey G6 (G60H) features a QHD resolution and an ultra-high 600Hz refresh rate, while the Odyssey OLED G6 (G61SH) offers a QHD resolution with a 240Hz refresh rate. Both monitors support AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and are Nvidia G-Sync Compatible, ensuring a smooth, tear-free gaming experience.
The company also recently announced support for up to 120 3D games before the end of this year on its Odyssey 3D gaming monitor. This model uses an LCD panel and offers a glasses-free 3D experience along with HDR10+ visuals.
Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of Samsung’s Visual Display (VD) division, said, “As the No. 1 gaming monitor brand, our goal is to continue leading the market with differentiated innovation. Strong partnerships with game studios guide our innovation, while a clear technology roadmap keeps us focused. By expanding our gaming library and broadening platform compatibility, we are delivering displays that perform when it matters most to gamers.”
