Samsung reveals Galaxy M17e 5G launch date and features

At the beginning of this year, we learned that Samsung is developing a smartphone called the Galaxy M17e 5G, and that it may be a rebranded variant of the Galaxy A07 5G. Last week, the brand put up the device’s support pages on its website, suggesting that it will launch the phone very soon. Now, the company has finally unveiled its launch date as well as its features.

Samsung has announced that it will launch the Galaxy M17e 5G in India on March 17, 2026, making it the first country to get the phone. Simultaneously, Amazon India has created a section for the device, which says “Amazon Specials,” suggesting that it will be available exclusively through the e-commerce platform. Samsung and Amazon have listed the phone’s key features.

According to the two, the Galaxy M17e 5G will have a 6.7-inch screen with HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. However, there is no information on the display type. We assume that it will be an LCD. The phone will feature the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset. At the moment, there’s no information on RAM and storage options. The phone will have a 6,000mAh battery. 

The company will ship the Galaxy M17e 5G with One UI 8.0 (Android 16) and will offer six major OS upgrades (new One UI and Android version), as well as security updates for six years. As for the cameras, at the rear, the phone will have a 50MP primary camera with a wide lens and a 2MP secondary camera for depth sensing, whereas, at the front, it will have an 8MP camera. 

Samsung says that the Galaxy M17e 5G’s back panel will be made of GFRP (Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer). It will also be dust and water-resistant, and come with an IP54 rating. For security and privacy, you will get a fingerprint scanner, among other things. The phone will support 12 5G bands, have a thickness of just 8.2mm, and will be available in Blitz Blue and Blitz Violet colors.

On Amazon India, one of the teaser images says that it will be the smoothest phone under INR 14,000 on the e-commerce platform, suggesting that Samsung will launch it under INR 14,000. We think that the brand will launch it at a starting price of INR 13,999.
