For Samsung, the ultimate goal for Galaxy AI is to remove friction from how people interact with mobile devices and create experiences that feel intuitive and natural. That’s arguably the aim for every other AI brand, too, but Samsung appears to have a head start on its mobile rivals thanks to its early collaboration with Google.
Even so, Samsung isn’t slowing down, and Galaxy AI continues to expand. Today, with only a few days left before Galaxy Unpacked 2026, Samsung announced that Galaxy AI will gain multi-agent support and Perplexity integration for its next flagship Galaxy devices, i.e., the Galaxy S26 series.
Citing recent insights, Samsung says people are increasingly turning to multiple AI agents to handle different types of tasks. According to the company, nearly 80% of users now rely on more than two AI agents in their daily workflows.
Noticing this shift, Samsung is expanding Galaxy AI to support a wider range of integrated AI agents. Perplexity is one of the newcomers joining Galaxy AI with the Galaxy S26 series and One UI 8.5.
Perplexity is an AI-powered conversational search engine developed by US-based Perplexity AI, Inc. Beyond simply plugging it into one feature, Samsung plans to integrate Perplexity deeply across its AI ecosystem.
Not only is Perplexity becoming a part of Bixby for web searches, but according to Samsung, it will also be embedded in several first-party apps, including Notes, Clock, Gallery, Calendar, and Reminder.
Samsung also says the new AI agent will appear in select third-party apps, although the company hasn’t named any partners yet. Galaxy device users will be able to interact with Perplexity using the dedicated “Hey Plex” voice wake phrase or by assigning Perplexity to the side button.
Because Galaxy AI operates at the system level, understanding context and natural interactions, Samsung says the platform acts as an orchestrator that brings multiple AI systems together into what it describes as a single, natural, cohesive experience.
Exactly how seamless all this will be remains to be seen. But Galaxy device users should be able to interact with multiple (select) apps seamlessly through this growing AI system without constantly switching apps. Galaxy S26 users should soon be the first to experience the newfound power of Galaxy AI through Perplexity.
Samsung will officially unveil the Galaxy S26 series at Unpacked 2026 in San Francisco. The event is scheduled for February 25, and fans everywhere will be able to tune in online to watch the reveal live. The Galaxy S26 lineup will also introduce new AI-powered camera experiences.
