Many Galaxy smartphones around the globe are getting a new Google Play System update for the second day in a row.

Yesterday, on many Samsung smartphones around the globe, especially on newer and higher-end models, a new Google Play System update became available, which was dated January 1, 2026. It arrived after these devices hadn’t gotten one for a long time. These Galaxy phones are now getting another Google Play System update. It is 1.3MB in size (via CID).
Some people report that after installing it, the Google Play System update is still dated January 1, 2026. Other reports indicate that after installing it, the date has been reverted to November 1, 2025. Earlier today, a 1.3MB Google Play System update arrived on Galaxy S25 units running on the beta version of One UI 8.5 as well; it is dated November 1, 2026.
