In anticipation of the Galaxy S26 series and One UI 8.5, Samsung has begun rolling out a new version of the Galaxy Wearable app. The update refreshes the app’s look to match One UI 8.5 and adds support for the upcoming Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro.

The update appears to be live in Korea for now, with a wider rollout expected soon. But before you tap that update button, there’s a catch. Some Galaxy Fit users may want to stay put.

No more Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Fit e support

The new Galaxy Wearable version is all about modernizing the user experience. One UI 8.5 aesthetics, enhanced security related to Smart Switch, and the addition of Galaxy Buds 4 support — they're all forward-thinking and future-proofing enhancements.

Unless you're still using a 2019 Galaxy Fit or Galaxy Fit e.

According to the official changelog, the new Galaxy Wearable version drops support for both the original Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Fit e. Once updated, the app will no longer work with those two wearables.

To be fair, the original Fit models were budget devices that have already outlived most gadgets in their class. The series has evolved since then, culminating in the Galaxy Fit 3 with its smartwatch-style rectangular display and a richer graphical interface.

Still, if you’re one of the few who stuck with the 2019 models because nothing quite replaces them, this update is effectively the end of the road. In that case, you may want to hold off on updating the Galaxy Wearable app.

As for the addition of Galaxy Buds 4 and Buds 4 Pro support to Galaxy Wearable, the timing is perfect. Samsung is set to unveil the new earbuds at Unpacked 2026 next week.

One UI 8.5 will debut alongside the Galaxy S26 series on the same day, though older Galaxy phones will have to wait a bit longer for their final One UI 8.5 firmware to arrive.
