Flatter stems without Blade Lights?
Reading time: 2 minutes
Although the Galaxy S26 series will almost certainly command the spotlight at Samsung’s upcoming Unpacked event later this month, it won’t be taking the stage alone.
Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Buds 4 series at the event. In the lead-up to Unpacked, the earbuds have already surfaced through an official Samsung animation shared by tipster Tarun Vats on X.
The animation, seemingly created as a user guide, walks future Buds 4 users through touch controls and gestures. More importantly, it confirms a near-complete redesign for the Galaxy Buds 4.
The new earbuds appear to feature flatter stems and a repositioned touch-sensitive area, signaling a noticeable shift in ergonomics and interaction compared to the current generation.
Rumors suggest the lineup will include two variants: the standard Galaxy Buds 4 and the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro.
How the two models will differ in terms of audio performance, active noise cancellation, or advanced features remains unclear. However, earlier leaks claim that neither model will include Blade Lights.
Blade Lights were a defining feature of the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, giving Samsung’s premium earbuds a distinctive visual identity and setting them apart from the regular Buds 3.
Their absence in the next generation suggests Samsung may be dialing back on flashy hardware elements in favor of a cleaner, more understated design approach. Then again, some might call this a bad sign of Samsung having a hard time committing to some of its innovative or creative ideas.
Pricing remains unofficial. Reports based on Korean market information point to approximate price tags of $150 for the Galaxy Buds 4 and $220 for the Buds 4 Pro. Keep in mind that Samsung’s domestic pricing is typically lower than in other regions, so international prices could land slightly higher.
Samsung’s next Unpacked event is scheduled for February 25 in San Francisco, with a global livestream available via YouTube. We will attend the event in person and share our hands-on experiences on the official SamMobile YouTube channel.
As usual, Samsung may sweeten Galaxy S26 pre-orders with bundle incentives involving the Buds 4. Pre-registration for the Galaxy S26 is already live, offering early perks, and more aggressive bundle deals could follow once both product lines officially launch.
