It took just 5 minutes for the $2,899 Galaxy Z TriFold to sell out in the US

The Galaxy Z TriFold is the most expensive smartphone that Samsung has offered so far. The company is only selling it in limited markets, and the United States was one of the very few to get it.

Samsung saw the device quickly being sold out after it was launched in other markets, so the expectation was not very different for the US, and that's precisely what happened.

A new report from South Korea indicates that the Galaxy Z TriFold was sold out on Samsung's online store within 5 minutes of being available on January 30, 2026. That's despite the fact that this device costs $2,899.

Samsung only sells the Galaxy Z TriFold through its online store in the country. The handset was also made available through select Samsung stores in the country. The Galaxy Z TriFold is not available through any carrier or retail partners right now.

It's already known that this handset is being made available in extremely limited quantities. What's not known is how many units were offered for sale initially, for them to sell out within 5 minutes of the launch. It couldn't have been more than a few thousand units at best.

Almost two weeks on, the Galaxy Z TriFold is still out of stock in the United States. Samsung hasn't said when it intends to restock the device, but it will happen at some point, as it has in other markets where the trifold has been released.
