In 2020, Samsung launched the brand’s first smartphone with a clamshell foldable display, the Galaxy Z Flip. It featured a Qualcomm chipset. Since then, the company offered every new phone in the lineup with a Snapdragon SoC, until this year.
The tech giant’s current flagship clamshell foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Flip 7, features the Exynos 2500, the first device in the series to use an Exynos SoC. Well, it looks like the brand is planning to continue the tradition next year as well.
According to a report from The Bell, Samsung is planning to equip its next flagship smartphone with a clamshell foldable display, the Galaxy Z Flip 8, with the Exynos 2600 SoC.
Samsung launched the chipset yesterday, and is expected to use the SoC for two of the three phones — Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ — in its next lineup of non-foldable flagship phones.
Considering that Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Flip 7 in July 2025, and follows a yearly refresh cycle, it is expected to launch the Galaxy Z Flip 8 in July 2026.
