At long last, Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro owners will finally be able to download the One UI 8 Watch update. Samsung has ended the One UI 8 Watch beta program that it was running in the US and Korea the last couple of months, meaning the stable update is almost ready to roll out.
Usually, Samsung waits a few days after a beta program ends before rolling out the stable update to everyone, but the Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic started receiving it just a few hours after the beta wrapped up. Hopefully, Samsung will take a similar approach for the Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro as well, especially considering how long owners of those models have been waiting for the One UI 8 Watch update.
Samsung will likely release the update for the cellular and Bluetooth-only variants at different times, and the global rollout could take about a week to pick up pace. Beta participants should receive a small update that brings their watch up to the stable One UI 8 Watch build, while everyone else will need to install a larger update before they can start enjoying the new features and improvements.
