Samsung finally launched its first XR headset, the Galaxy XR, this year. The headset went on sale only in South Korea and the United States, but that will eventually change.
The Galaxy XR is the first device to run Android XR, a new platform built together by Samsung, Google, and Qualcomm, and it’s powered by the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chip with 16GB RAM and 256GB storage.
It features 4.3K Micro-OLED displays with full-color passthrough, Dolby Atmos spatial audio, and support for both AR and VR modes. The headset also integrates Gemini, Google’s AI assistant, which can see and hear what you do to help with tasks, identify objects, and even create 3D content.
When Samsung launched the Galaxy XR, it confirmed availability only for the U.S. and Korea. However, SamMobile has learned that more countries will join the list in 2026.
According to our information, Germany, France, Canada, and the UK are next in line to get the Galaxy XR sometime in 2026. However, this list may not be final, and Samsung could add more countries as production expands and as more apps and XR experiences become available.
Samsung seems to be taking things slow and steady with its first XR headset — testing the waters in key markets before going fully global. If all goes well, 2026 could be the year when Galaxy XR becomes a truly international product.
