Galaxy M series close to reaching a huge milestone

Samsung recently launched the Galaxy M17 5G, a new affordable phone. Typically, phones in the Galaxy M series offer more value for money compared to their Galaxy A siblings. Samsung has revealed that the Galaxy M lineup is about to reach a significant milestone.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Samsung India executive Akshay S. Rao revealed that the company decided to fast-track the launch of the Galaxy M17 5G. This decision was made after observing the overwhelming response received by the Galaxy M16 5G. Last year, the Galaxy M16 5G was one of the best-selling phones in India, particularly in the INR 10,000 ($120) to INR 15,000 ($180) price segment.

They also revealed that Samsung sold close to 60 million Galaxy M series phones since its inception in 2019. And the company is confident that it will cross the 60 million milestone by the end of this year.

Even though Samsung is trying to increase the share of high-end phones in its overall sales figures, the $120-$180 price segment still remains crucial for the South Korean firm. This price segment caters to a large segment of the population in India and several other countries that want durability and performance without stretching their budget.

Samsung saw a 40% growth in the sales of its premium phones this year compared to 2024. These are the phones that are priced above INR 30,000 ($340) and are usually Galaxy S series and Galaxy Z series phones. This year, the company sold a lot of Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 Ultra, and Galaxy S25 series phones during the Indian festive period.

The South Korean firm claimed that more people are now interested in buying Samsung's mobile ecosystem products, such as smartwatches, tablets, and wireless earbuds, which is a sign of improving ecosystem.
