Samsung is falling behind the curve with its foldable phones. Over the past couple of years, very little has improved with foldable Galaxy phones, and rivals have been putting out better-specced foldables with lower prices. However, the South Korean firm seems to have a plan to improve its situation with its upcoming flagship phone.

It could be called the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra.

Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra exists, but could see a limited release

Multiple reports claimed that Samsung could launch a better-specced foldable phone alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 6. However, there wasn't any credible proof of its existence. GalaxyClub is now reporting that the phone exists, and its model number is SM-F958. If you know Samsung's model number sequencing, the number towards the end of this phone—8 in this case—means that it will come with the Ultra tag.

Before you get your hopes up too high, it seems that the phone could see a limited release. For now, according to the report, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra only exists for the South Korean market, featuring model number SM-F958N. The European and US versions of the phone haven't been discovered yet. There could be a few reasons for it.

It could mean that Samsung will release the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra in only a few countries. It could also mean that Samsung is in the early stages of the development of the phone, and the phone could launch a few months after the launch of the vanilla Galaxy Z Fold 6. It was also reported that the pricier of the two have codename Q6A.

What to expect from Galaxy Z Fold 6?

As of now, it is unclear how the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra will differ from the vanilla Galaxy Z Fold 6. Leaked renders of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 revealed that the phone is shorter and wider than the Galaxy Z Fold 5. It also features the same triple-camera setup on the rear as its predecessor.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra could feature the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 For Galaxy processor, a titanium body, Gorilla Glass Armor screen protection with anti-reflective properties, and better cameras onboard. However, things will only get clearer over the next few months. Fans have been demanding Samsung to reduce the screen crease, add bigger batteries, and have better camera sensors in its Galaxy Z Fold series phones.

It remains to be seen how many of those demands will be met when Samsung launches the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra.

The one upgrade that will make me consider the Galaxy Z Fold 6

Galaxy Z Fold smartphones may be the most expensive of all Galaxy phones, but they aren’t known for offering the most cutting-edge hardware specs. The under-display camera, and the fact that the screen can fold, are the only things that are impressive about the Galaxy Z Fold lineup. The Ultra models in each year’s Galaxy […]
