I've been using the Galaxy Buds Pro for almost two years. I enjoyed nearly every minute of music playback and podcast listening with the Buds Pro, but unfortunately, I can no longer wear them. Doctor's orders.
The Galaxy Buds started irritating my ear canal, and disinfecting the earbuds and carrying case after each use hasn't prevented this issue. My doctor advised me against using any in-ear earbuds, Samsung or otherwise, so I had to shelve my Buds Pro. They recommend I wear over-ear headphones instead of earbuds for my on-the-go music listening needs. Unfortunately, this leaves me without a Samsung option.
Although Samsung's official online store, in some markets, links to JBL over-ear and on-ear wireless headphones, it's not the same as offering a pair of Galaxy headphones designed for mobile users and the Galaxy Wear app — even if JBL is a Samsung subsidiary.
The heading above pretty much sums it all up. I wish Samsung offered wireless over-ear Galaxy headphones, and I find it odd that Samsung hasn't released such a product yet. But I really hope this will change eventually.
Samsung owns Harman, AKG, and JBL, to name a few, and it's making some of the best wireless earbuds for mobile phone users. Not to mention that Apple — Samsung's biggest rival in the mobile game — has developed and released over-ear wireless headphones for iPhone and Mac users.
Yet, for some reason, Samsung hasn't explored this product category, and there are no signs that it will soon. The company seems to be betting everything on the wireless earbud design, which I can understand. But seeing how I am now in a predicament where I can't use Galaxy Buds even if I wanted to, I wonder if there are others like me and if Samsung is missing out on an opportunity to make some of its fans happy while cashing in on their headphone needs.
