Samsung has finally released the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update to the Galaxy A05s. It is among the last eligible Galaxy smartphones to get the Android 14 update. The company's high-end smartphones started getting the Android 14 update in October 2023, and then the update expanded to mid-range and affordable devices. The only remaining Galaxy devices to get the update are entry-level models.

Galaxy A05s gets Android 14 (One UI 6.0) update in Asia

The Android 14 update for the Galaxy A05s comes with firmware version A057FXXU2BXA8, which is currently available in Indonesia and Vietnam. More countries could join the list soon. Since this is a significant software update, we expect the download size of this update to be over 1.5GB, so it would be wiser to use a Wi-Fi network to download the update. Moreover, back up your data, such as call logs, documents, messages, images, and videos. If you have a Galaxy A05s and live in Indonesia or Vietnam, you can now check for the new update by heading to Settings » Software update and tapping Download and install.

If you don't want to wait for the OTA update to hit your device, you can download the new firmware file from our firmware database and flash it manually. You would need a computer running a Windows operating system and the Odin tool for the manual firmware flashing process. The update also includes the January 2024 security patch that fixes around 65 security flaws.

One UI 6.0 features for Galaxy A05s

Android 14-based One UI 6.0 brings several new features, including a brand-new Quick Panel layout for quick setting toggles, new font options for the lock screen clock widget, new emoji design, and more size and placement options for the lock screen clock widget. Samsung has also introduced a new media player widget for the notifications and lock screen areas, featuring a waveform animation. You can watch all the other new features in our in-depth video below.

Samsung has improved all the stock apps with One UI 6.0. The Gallery app now has more editing suggestions. The Photo Editor app now has more prominent controls and editing options. The built-in Video Editor app has been renamed to Samsung Studio, and it now supports drafts and timelines. The Settings app now has a direct listing for the Battery section. Objects in images and videos can be clipped and saved as stickers in Samsung Keyboard.
