Samsung has released a new Android 14 One UI 6.0 beta update for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 today, at the same time it released one for the Galaxy S23 lineup. This is the third Galaxy Z Fold 5 beta update; the initial rollout has kicked off in the USA, but we can expect it to come to other beta-eligible countries soon.

While the first One UI 6.0 beta for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 was pretty solid for some, it seems others weren't so lucky. The third beta comes with fixes for existing issues and also includes some issues that haven't been fixed. Among the former are errors such as the home screen or the home navigation gesture not working, getting an empty screen when opening the Quick Panel, and force closures when trying to crop a part of the screen in landscape mode using the Smart Select Edge panel.

The list of known issues is similar in length. On the latest beta, hyperlapse mode may not work at 300x speed, Samsung Pay may not be visible at the bottom of the lock screen, crashes may occur in the Camera and One UI Home (which includes the home screen and app drawer) apps, and there may also be crashes of the entire user interface (though the user interface should instantly reload after the error occurs).

The third beta update comes with a firmware version ending in ZWJ8, is a ~770MB download over the air, and includes the October 2023 security patch (which isn't new). If you're in the Galaxy Z Fold 5 beta program, you will be able to download the update from the phone's Settings » Software update menu once it's live in your country.
