The reservation and pre-order period for the new Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 monitor in the USA kicked off two weeks ago, but that window of opportunity is now closed. Samsung no longer accepts reservations and pre-orders, but customers in the USA interested in this bonkers curved gaming monitor can now buy it from the company's online shop, physical stores, and partner retailers.

It doesn't take an expert eye to quickly realize that the Odyssey OLED G9 is an unusual monitor. It's a 49-inch curved gaming monitor with an ultrawide 32:9 aspect ratio, which enables highly immersive experiences.

Thanks to these characteristics and other powerful specs combined, the Odyssey OLED G9 certainly left a mark on us when we first got our hands on it at CES earlier this year.

Bonkers form factor, size, and performance. For a price

The sheer size and impressive 1800R curvature of the Odyssey OLED G9 are not the only things about this monitor that stand out. By definition, it is a high-end monitor, so it boasts specifications such as a Neo Quantum Processor Pro, a 240Hz refresh rate, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, and a 0.03ms fast response time.

    Other specs include 178°(H) / 178°(V) viewing angles, HDR10+ gaming, a resolution of 5,120 x 1,440, DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1, built-in Adaptive Sound Pro speakers (5W x 2ch), and a height-adjustable stand that can tilt between 2-15 degrees.

Oh, and the cherry on top is that the Odyssey OLED G9 comes with the Gaming Hub platform. It's an ingenious solution from Samsung, which allows smart monitor and TV users to experience gaming without spending anything extra. Gaming Hub lets users play a wide range of games via the cloud without having to ever connect the monitor to a console or a PC. All they need is a controller.

All this high-tech stuff wrapped up in a curved form factor comes at a cost. The Odyssey OLED G9 is now available in the USA for $2,199. Alternatively, Samsung customers can pay for the OLED G9 in four $550 installments every two weeks or buy the monitor for $61.11 a month (for 36 months).
