These Samsung Galaxy phones now support Google Stadia

It was initially possible to access Google Stadia on the company's Pixel smartphones only. Google today announced that it's expanding support for the game streaming service to handsets from other manufacturers. Samsung is one of them and several of its Galaxy phones now have support for Google Stadia.

The idea behind Stadia is that players should be able to play console-quality games with the most basic equipment. So even a reasonably capable phone will be more than enough since none of the heavy lifting to run the game is done on the device itself. All of that is done on Google's servers, and the megacorp has one of the biggest server networks in the entire world. So the player's device is effectively streaming an online video and doing none of the work to power the game.

Starting February 20, Stadia will be available on a variety of different smartphones, including several models from Samsung, such as the new Galaxy S20 lineup. These are the Samsung Galaxy phones that have been confirmed for Stadia support. We can expect that at least all upcoming flagships will be a part of this list as well.

All that's needed to play Stadia games on these Samsung Galaxy phones is a fairly decent internet connection and the Stadia app for Android. Google recommends an internet connection of 10Mbps or more as the absolute minimum and a network speed of 35Mbps or more in order to play in 4K resolution. Do note that it's not possible to stream games from Stadia on a cellular network connection.
