Galaxy S26's first software update reaches the US

On Monday, Samsung released the first software update for the Galaxy S26 series. It brought the February 2026 security patch. Initially, the brand offered it in its home country, South Korea, and then in many other parts of the world, including Europe and India. Now, the company is rolling it out in the US.

From what we could gather, Samsung is currently rolling out the update to carrier-locked variants. The update is 534.81MB in size and carries firmware version S94xUSQS1AZC7. The February 2026 security patch fixes 37 security issues. To get it, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

Some users report that the update also brings the Inactivity Restart feature. It restarts the device if you don't use it for 72 hours (3 days). As the phone restarts, it doesn't show notifications on the lockscreen and asks you for a passcode to unlock it, improving the security and privacy.

It is worth pointing out that as soon as we entered this month, Samsung detailed the March 2026 security patch. However, the brand hasn’t started rolling it out yet. The company could start offering it with the Galaxy S26 series. So, expect another software update on your phone this month.
