Galaxy Z TriFold lacks a cool feature available on Z Flip and Z Fold phones

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Fold series phones can be folded in a way that you can place them on a surface where one half of their foldable display faces you, letting you use these devices hands-free. What makes using these devices in this position more convenient and fun is the Flex Mode. When you fold these devices partially and open select applications, the feature can reorganise its user interface to show the content in the top portion and the controls at the bottom. 

For example, when you are using the YouTube app on the foldable display to watch a video and then fold the device partially, Flex Mode will make the app show the video at the top and the title of the video, like and dislike buttons, comments sections, and other UI elements at the bottom. This is one of the coolest and most useful features on these devices to utilise the foldable screen. Unfortunately, Samsung’s first phone with a tri-folding screen, the Galaxy Z TriFold, doesn’t offer it.

You can fold Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold to place it on a surface in a way that one-third of the foldable display faces you. However, the phone lacks the Flex Mode (via SuperSaf), which means that in this position, when you open an app, the phone will not reorganise its UI to suit the position of the display.

While that could be disappointing for many Galaxy Z TriFold fans, the phone does look weird when you fold it to place it on a surface to make a part of the foldable display face you (check out the video to understand what we are talking about). That’s probably why Samsung skipped offering the feature.
