When glass meets concrete, it only ever goes one way.

Durability will be the major concern for some customers who consider buying the Galaxy S25 Edge, Samsung's super-slim flagship that comes in at just 5.8mm thin. While the device has performed well in a durability test, how does it fare in more real world scenarios, where you may drop it accidentally?
Well, it's not going to forge a new standard for durability, that's for sure. A new drop test video shows that it only takes one drop for the display to break on the Galaxy S25 Edge.
Samsung has used Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, Corning's latest product, for this device. It has crystals embedded inside the glass matrix to enhance durability and crack deflection, but just how good is it in reality?
A Galaxy S25 Edge drop test video posted on YouTube shows that the display can get cracked if it falls on concrete from roughly the same height as when you'd have the phone up against your ear. The back glass cracks as well when dropped flat on the hard surface from a similar height.
You'd better wish that the device falls at an angle and the frame hits the concrete first as that would save the glass and you'd only have to live with the scuffs and impressions on the frame, because when glass meets concrete, it typically never ends well for glass, no matter which device it is.
The Galaxy S25 Edge would fare better if you drop it on other surfaces, but the safer option would be to use a good case with the device, as that thin profile can make it prone to slipping from your grip and potentially burning a hole in your pocket.
