The silver and gold versions are still shipping from September 2nd, so it looks like the Black Onyx option has seen considerable demand. It's unclear if this means that people who pre-ordered the black model when the shipment date was still September 2nd will also be receiving their phones late; hopefully, the delayed shipment will only affect those consumers who didn't manage to get in a pre-order early on, although the high demand for the Note 7 around the globe means anything is possible.
Samsung had earlier delayed availability of the Note 7 in a couple of other markets by a week (and even longer), and the delay for the Black Onyx model in India means the Korean giant is still some way off from making enough units of its latest flagship. Whether this is because the company initially produced a small number of units fearing the high price of the Note 7 would turn consumers away is something we will probably never know, but it certainly looks like folks around the world have taken a liking to what has been called the best phablet in the market today.
