Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo (GT-I9300I) gets Android 4.4.4 update

    Firmware
    By

    Last updated: September 5th, 2014 at 14:52 UTC+02:00

In a rather strange move, Samsung has pushed out the Android 4.4.4 update to the Galaxy S3 Neo before any other device in its lineup, before even the flagships like the Galaxy S5. The update is currently rolling out to the device in Kazakhstan with build number I9300IXXUBNH3; it should be available as an over-the-air download as well as through Kies, though advanced users can also grab the firmware from our firmware section to update manually. As for the changelog, we're guessing there is nothing major to speak of, and the update should mostly include bug and security fixes that are a part and parcel of Android 4.4.4.

As always, keep in mind that the update will gradually roll out to more regions in the coming weeks. We'll be sure to let you know when Samsung rolls out the update to other devices, and we will continue hoping that Samsung completes the Android 4.4.4 rollout for eligible devices well in time before Android L comes knocking.

    Firmware Details:

    • • Model: GT-I9300I
    • • Model name: GALAXY S III

The Galaxy S4 gets an update to Android 5.0.1. The Galaxy S5 gets an update to Android 5.0 at the same time. This device gets Android 5.0.2, that device gets Android 5.0.1, all in the same week. It's been a recurring theme when it comes to software updates for Samsung devices – the company seems […]

AT&T Galaxy S5 users will be getting a software update notification shortly and they shouldn't get their […]

AT&T updates the Samsung Galaxy S4 to Android 4.4.4

Android Lollipop isn't here yet, though Samsung is certainly working on bringing it to its flagship devices. The update is rather minor, with the only big […]
