The Galaxy S5 comes with quite a few new features that make it stand apart from the competition, but one feature that Samsung failed to mention could turn out to be the most useful for parents, if they have both the Galaxy S5 and the Gear 2 smartwatch. The Galaxy S5 has a feature called “Baby crying detector”, which will display a notification on a paired Gear smartwatch whenever the phone picks up the sound of a child crying. The feature is located in the Accessibility menu on the device, though naturally, Samsung doesn't recommend relying on it too heavily and offers tips on how best to use the baby crying detector.
However, like all other features that Samsung adds to the software on its phones, the baby monitor could come useful at times for those that have a young one to take care of, and the company will hopefully add improvements in the future that make it as reliable as possible.
