Samsung uses PENTILE due its longer live span...

Well there was a big buzz surrounding the launch of the Galaxy III, their were some disappointments too.
For instance its display which was a Pentile Amoled one. Samsung has defended their use of its Subpixel lay-out and said to to Mobile Burn that it is due to have a longer live span.

Pentile matrix uses one red and one blue subpixel for every two green ones, and that can cause image quality and color issues.

We think it is damage control cause they were not ready with their intended display for the Galaxy S III .
