Apple’s damages in Samsung trial cut down to $598 million from over $1 billion
One of the hottest lawsuit cases last year was the Samsung vs Apple case in which both companies sued each other over patent infringements. Eventually, Samsung lost the case and was ordered to pay over $1 Billion to Apple in damages, but that amount has been revised now. Judge Koh has just reduced $450,514,650 from the original amount and now Samsung has to pay a total of $598,908,892 in a second trial. Samsung can actually try to lower the new amount in the second trial but we will see what the Korean giant really does. Judge Koh hasn’t announced the date of the second trial but we will keep you guys posted as soon as we get any information on that.

Half billion is nothing for samsung, last year their profit was around 20 billion, and earnings around 150 billion €, maybe i dont remember those nubmers correctly but they were sky high

Eventhough samsung are making record profits it doesnt mean its right for them to pay the fine; they haven’t done anything wrong in the first place. Nearly all the court cases around the world has favored samsung and unsurprisingly the US court is the only one that hasn’t.
