EXCLUSIVE: Samsung to announce 5.8” Android smartphone

Remember the Samsung Galaxy Player 5.8? Today we can confirm that Samsung will announce one of them for Europe. The only difference is that this time it’s NOT a media player, it is a smartphone! According to the latest information from our insider Samsung will soon announce the Galaxy Fonblet 5.8 (GT-I9152). The model number indicates that this device will have DUAL-SIM support and will also feature a 5.8″ Display, same as the one on the Galaxy Player 5.8. The Galaxy Fonblet 5.8 will come in Pure White colour. For Samsung white is the new black. We expect this device to run Android 4.1.2/4.2.1 Jelly Bean out of the box.

The Galaxy Player 5.8 which is only for sale in Korea uses a 5.8” TFT screen with qHD resolution display, 3 Megapixel camera, BT 4.0, couple of sensors and running on Android 4.0.

what the -.-*** .. 5.5, 5.8 and then 6.3? This is getting out of hand even if this is legit because it’s plain nuts. What are the use for putting mere .x increment sized models this much?

there’s qHD and there’s also QHD. Yup lower and uppercase diff w/ QHD being 2560×1440. If it’s a confirmed QHD screen then it’s actually overkill even.

I’m sure it’s supposed to be 13mp camera…that seems to be what Samsung is moving to with newer top end devices. And this is way too big of a screen for a phone. might as well try to cram a Galaxy Tab in your pocket.

Galaxy Player has 5.8 the 3MP camera and these are not the specs of the new Galaxy Fonblet phone..!
