The Galaxy Z Fold 7 isn't what you'd call a cheap phone. Pricing starts at $1,999, so it's already on the higher end of the pricing spectrum, and now you'll need to pay more for the higher storage variants.
Samsung has increased the prices for the 512GB and 1TB variants of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in the United States. No price increase has been made for the base model with 256GB of storage.
This isn't really surprising. Earlier this month, Samsung increased the Galaxy Z Fold 7 price in its home country of South Korea for the higher storage variant as well.
The 512GB Galaxy Z Fold 7 was launched at $2,119 last year. It's now priced at $2,199. The 1TB variant has gone up from $2,419 to $2,499. Both variants have seen their prices being increased by $80.
Since the Galaxy Z Fold 7 doesn't have a microSD card slot, your options are quite limited if you need more storage. 256GB isn't that much in this day and age and a lot of customers opt for the higher storage variants. They have no option to but to pay more now.
A price increase for a device that's bound to be replaced by the Galaxy Z Fold 8 in a few months isn't a good omen. It suggests that Samsung would likely introduce these variants of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 at higher prices. Not like it has any other option, with component prices as they are right now, there's isn't much wiggle room left for the company.
