If WhatsApp is one of your primary messaging platforms — whether because you're contacting Samsung support through it or for other reasons — you should be happy to learn that WhatsApp is getting a new set of emojis.

The new emoji set from the latest Unicode was initially released for iOS customers, and now, the same Unicode set is available for WhatsApp beta users on Android OS. Look for beta version 2.22.8.8.

The screenshot below (via WABetaInfo) showcases all the new emojis laid down in a single message. Well, all but their skin tone variants, so you can imagine that there are quite a few dozen new emojis available in total for the latest WhatsApp beta build for Android.

As to how these new emojis work in the beta app, well, it's worth noting that if you are a WhatsApp beta tester, you'll have access to sending them to anyone. However, only WhatsApp beta testers running the latest version can receive and view them correctly.

WhatsApp developers are also working on bringing emoji reactions to messages, though we're unsure when it might happen. That feature got spotted in beta builds for roughly a year, and it's not publicly out yet. With that in mind, there's no telling when this new set of emojis will be available to every WhatsApp customer that isn't using the beta version, but we'll keep you up to speed with future developments.
