Three key reasons why your Galaxy A34 is starting to look outdated

Samsung's mid-range phone designs never stopped evolving, much like the premium segment hasn't. In fact, the mid-range Galaxy A series arguably went through more significant aesthetic changes in recent years than the pricier Galaxy S lineup.

This means that some budget phones have aged more quickly. And among those that are starting to show their age is the Galaxy A34. It was released at the crossroads of key design changes across the A series, and it shows.

No matter how hard you may try to hide it, the Galaxy A34 is starting to look like an old-gen phone. Wondering why? Here are the three main reasons.

Say what you will about the individual camera cutouts. They're not necessarily aging the phone, even if the camera rings aren't very prominent.

The Fold series and future flagship models like the Galaxy S26 will move away from individual camera cutouts, but many ongoing premium devices still have camera rings. However, modern A-series phones have already left the simple camera cutout design behind, which doesn't help the A34's case.

More importantly, the lack of a Key Island and especially the Infinity-U display ages the Galaxy A34 by quite a bit. And even though you might be able to hide the curved frame, you can't get around that outdated Infinity-U cutout.

Samsung is now working on the Galaxy A37 for a 2026 release. Nobody knows what the future model will look like just yet, but we're guessing it will evolve the current A36 formula into something even more modern. The phone may have a more prominent camera housing and will certainly have an Infinity-O display.

As far as the longevity of the Galaxy A34, the phone received the Android 16-based One UI 8.0 update a few weeks ago and still has one more major Android OS upgrade to go before Samsung stops supporting it.

If you're not bothered by the aging design and don't need better performance, you can technically still use it safely for a couple more years. Once Android OS upgrades stop, Samsung will support it with security patches for another year.
