Multiple reports suggest that Samsung will only use Qualcomm processors in its flagship smartphones for the next two years. That means the Galaxy S24 will most likely use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. Although the details about the chip are scarce at the moment, an image showing its Geekbench score has appeared online. If this information can be believed, the Galaxy S24 will be more powerful than the Apple iPhone 14 Pro.
An account on Weibo (via Meeco) posted an image showing the Geekbench score of the alleged Qualcomm Snapdragon Gen 3. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 scored 1,930 points in the single-core test and 6,236 points in the multi-core test. Compared to the Apple A16 Bionic, which scored 1,870 points in the single-core test and 5,380 points in the multi-core test. So, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 has a 3% better single-core and a 15% better multi-core performance.
Another post on Weibo claims that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will have a ten-core CPU. It has one prime CPU core, five high-performance CPU cores, and four power-efficiency CPU cores. It also suggests that the upcoming chipset will be twenty percent more power efficient compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is a refined chipset, and the Galaxy S23 showcases excellent performance, even under sustained loads. Moreover, it also features long battery life. Considering that Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will be even more powerful and efficient, the Galaxy S24 could have amazing performance and battery life.
