Reportedly, Realme's next flagship phone will use the Samsung ISOCELL HP5 200MP camera sensor, which was launched yesterday.

Yesterday, Samsung launched a new camera sensor for mobile devices, the ISOCELL HP5, which features 200MP resolution. Well, Chinese smartphone manufacturers are wasting no time adopting it.
According to a tipster from China, Realme’s next flagship smartphone, the GT 8 Pro, will feature the Samsung ISOCELL HP5 camera sensor with a periscope telephoto lens.
The ISOCELL HP5 has a 1/1.56-inch sensor size, which means that it is smaller than Samsung’s previous camera sensors with 200MP resolution. That results in a pixel size of 0.5µm. Typically, larger sensors yield better picture quality. However, Samsung, despite the new sensor being smaller, claims that it will offer better picture quality, thanks to all the technologies it features. That includes Dual Vertical Transfer Gate (D-VTG) and Front Deep Trench Isolation (FDTI), which are said to improve the Full Well Capacity of each pixel.
Chinese smartphone manufacturers have been using Samsung’s ISOCELL camera sensors for a long time. Since these brands are always ready to adopt new technologies and hardware, it is no surprise to see them pouncing on the ISOCELL HP5. However, Realme isn't the only brand adopting it. Reportedly, Vivo's upcoming Y500 Pro will also feature this camera. It remains to be seen which will be the first phone on the market with this camera sensor.
