Xiaomi has used Samsung's ISOCELL HPB for the 17 Max.

In 2021, Samsung introduced the ISOCELL HP1, the world’s first 200MP camera sensor for mobile devices, and the camera sensor with the highest resolution for smartphones/tablets at the time. Since then, the brand has launched many new 200MP camera sensors.
Thanks to their immense capabilities, smartphone manufacturers have been unable to resist it, especially the Chinese ones, using them extensively for their devices. Now, one more Chinese mobile maker has used Samsung’s 200MP camera for its smartphone.
Yesterday, Xiaomi launched its new flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 17 Max. On X, a popular tipster, Ice Universe claims that the phone’s primary camera at the rear uses Samsung’s ISOCELL HPB sensor, which has a 200MP resolution.
The South Korean tech giant introduced the ISOCELL HPB last year (2025), and it is the brand’s latest camera sensor with a 200MP resolution for mobile devices. Surprisingly, Samsung hasn’t used this camera for its own smartphones yet.
From what we could gather, the Vivo X300 Ultra was the first smartphone to use the ISOCELL HPB, and the Xiaomi 17 Max is the second device to utilise it, which pairs it with an f/1.7 aperture, phase detection autofocus, and optical image stabilisation (OIS).
