In 2021, Samsung launched the ISOCELL HP1, the world’s first 200MP camera sensor for smartphones. Since then, the brand has launched multiple 200MP camera sensors, and they have been a hit in the industry. Many smartphone brands have used them for their devices. Vivo is one of them. Well, the Chinese brand is once again using Samsung's camera for its phones.
Vivo has announced that it will use Samsung’s 200MP ISOCELL camera sensor for its next lineup of flagship smartphones, which is expected to be the X300 series. The brand hasn’t announced which of Samsung's 200MP camera sensors it is going to use, though. Vivo has also not revealed if it is going to use the sensor for primary, telephoto, or ultra-wide cameras.
Samsung’s latest 200MP camera sensor is the ISOCELL HP9. Recently. Chinese brands have been using the ISOCELL HP5 sensor behind a periscope lens. Maybe that’s the route Vivo will take.
Speaking of Samsung’s 200MP camera sensors, the brand is rumoured to use the ISOCELL HP2 camera sensor with a wider aperture for its next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
