Typically, Samsung offers a new version of One UI first to new and high-end devices, then to older and more affordable ones, and lastly, to its niche devices, such as the Galaxy XCover and Tab Active series. The brand started rolling out the One UI 8.0 (Android 16) update last month, and going by the company’s pattern of releasing updates, we expected it to offer the update to its niche devices by the end of November.
However, the brand is running way ahead of schedule, and as a part of that, has started rolling out the One UI 8.0 update to the Galaxy XCover 7 (via Mohammed Khatri). The update carries firmware version G556BXXUBDYIA and is live in many countries around the world, including Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. You can get it by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
With One UI 8, you get a redesigned user interface, new features, and revamped Samsung applications, which you can check out here or in our video below.
While Samsung hasn’t completed rolling out One UI 8, the brand’s upcoming One UI 8.5 has leaked, which reveals all the new things it offers. You can check it out here.
