The November 2024 patch fixes 38 vulnerabilities in the core Android OS and 13 in Samsung One UI. It also fixes a vulnerability affecting phones and smartwatches powered by select Exynos chips. The full list of affected chips includes the Exynos 9820, 9825, 980, 990, 850, 1080, 2100, 1280, 2200, 1330, 1380, 1480, 2400, 9110, W920, and W930.
The 38 vulnerabilities that are common to Android devices regardless of brand are all designated high-risk vulnerabilities. The 11 vulnerabilities discovered on Galaxy devices posed either moderate or high risk and could allow attackers to access user data without permission and cause memory corruption and other issues.
The rollout of the November 2024 security update for Galaxy smartphones and tablets started with the Galaxy S24 series and the Galaxy S23 series on November 4 and will expand to cover more devices throughout this month.
As always, you will be able to download the latest security update on your Galaxy device from its Settings » Software update menu. You can also visit our firmware library to download the latest firmware for your device and install it using a Windows PC and Samsung's Odin tool.
