A couple of days ago, we learned that Samsung has discontinued its first smartphone with a tri-folding display, the Galaxy Z TriFold, which, according to data, was a smart move. However, it doesn’t mean that the brand has forgotten about it. The company is supposed to offer seven major OS upgrades to the phone. One of them is One UI 8.5, and now, it looks like the tech giant is preparing to open the new software’s beta program for the device.

A firmware for the Galaxy Z TriFold featuring One UI 8.5 has been spotted on Samsung’s server (via Mohammed Khatri). It suggests that the brand could soon open the One UI 8.5 beta program for the smartphone, letting people who enroll in the program try out the new software before the brand rolls out the stable version to all. The firmware carries version F9680ZCU3ZZCB.

One UI 8.5 brings a user interface that looks more organised and more sophisticated. It is also more customisable, letting you personalise your phone to a higher degree. The new software offers new features as well, making the phone more convenient for you to use.

The One UI 8.5 beta program could go on for a couple of weeks before the brand releases the stable version. It is worth pointing out that Samsung has already debuted the stable version of One UI 8.5 with the Galaxy S26 series. The brand is yet to roll it out to older devices.
