Samsung has launched its new microSD card lineup called the P9 Express. The company says that this is its fastest microSD card yet as it's based on the PCIe interface and NVME protocol. The P9 Express is capable of data transfer at speeds that are four times quicker than UHS-I standard cards.
The company says that the P9 Express has been developed to provide users with next-gen gaming experiences, and to that end, it has been optimized for platforms like the Nintendo Switch 2.
The Samsung P9 Express is available in both 256GB and 512GB varities. The dedicated SD Express interface enables the P9 Express to deliver sequential read speeds of up to 800 MB/s, making it the perfect option not just for gaming but also for 4K video editing or transferring large files between devices.
The SD Express interface helps speed things up as its Host Memory Buffer can rely on your device's memory for faster load times, as long as your device has support for SD Express. The P9 Express also has Dynamic Thermal Guard technology which ensures cool and steady performance even under intense load.
Durability is assured through water, dust, drop, and temperature resistance, all features that we've come to expect from Samsung's microSD cards.
Samsung has said that the P9 Express microSD cards will be available for purchase worldwide in November. The 256GB and 512GB variants cost £58.59 and £99.99 respectively.
