Samsung Galaxy M55 and Galaxy M55s users, there’s some great news for you. The software update that you have all been waiting for is finally here. The South Korean tech giant is rolling out the One UI 8.0 (Android 16) update to the two phones. The brand had said that it would offer the update to the phones in October, and it has stayed true to its word.
Currently, Samsung is rolling out the updates in India. The update for the Galaxy M55 carries firmware version M556BXXU4CYJ4 and is 2,618.76MB in size, whereas that for the Galaxy M55s carries firmware version M558BXXU2CYJ4 and is 2,560.60MB in size. Samsung could release these updates in other regions in the next few days.
Along with Android 16 and One UI 8, these updates also bring the October 2025 security patch. It fixes a bunch of security issues, which you can check out here. To get the update, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. We will soon make the new firmware files available in our database. You can then download it from there and install it manually.
The Galaxy M55 and the Galaxy M55s are also eligible to get Samsung’s next OS customisation for its phones and tablets, One UI 8.5. Based on a new version of Android (Android 16 QPR2) compared to the one One UI 8 is based on (Android 16), it brings a redesigned user interface and many new features, which you can check out in our video below.
