Yesterday, Samsung took the wraps off the brand’s first smartphone with a tri-folding display. However, the company didn’t reveal its name, features, price, or availability. Well, Google seems to have shed light on some of those aspects.
In the latest version of the Google app, Android Authority has come across a list of devices eligible for free Gemini promotions, and it mentions ‘SAMSUNG_TRIFOLD_2025,’ confirming the name and the launch timeframe of the device.
There’s no ‘Z’ in the name, as previous reports had suggested, but the string of code doesn’t mention ‘Z’ for the Galaxy Z Fold and the Galaxy Z Flip devices either. So, it is safe to assume that Samsung will call its first phone with a tri-folding display Galaxy Z TriFold.
As for when the brand will launch it, the term ‘2025’ in the name suggests that the company will launch it this year. Needless to say, purchasing the device will get you access to a paid version of Gemini for free, just like you see with the Galaxy S and Galaxy Z series phones.
However, none of the new information is surprising. Previously, Samsung had confirmed that it would launch the brand's first phone with a tri-folding display by the end of this year. Plus, there have been reports from multiple sources from other sources claiming the same thing, and shedding light on its name.
According to multiple reports, Samsung will launch the Galaxy Z TriFold in China, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and the UAE. Unfortunately, it may not launch the phone in the US. Along with confusion about launch regions, there's also a lack of detailed information about the phone's features.
