The Google Pay app will stop working in the US on June 4, 2024. Users need to switch to the Google Wallet app, which has functionality that is similar to Google Pay. So, you can continue using tap-to-pay in Google Wallet to make store payments. Moreover, the Google Wallet app also has additional features, including the ability to store virtual credit/debit cards, loyalty/membership cards, bus/flight tickets, passes, and more.
Google said it is making three changes that Google Pay users need to be aware of before the June deadline:
Alternatively, if you use a Galaxy smartphone, you can use Samsung Wallet to store credit/debit cards and make mobile payments at stores. The app also lets you store your membership cards, travel tickets, digital keys, and government-issued ID cards. You can also store your vaccination certificates, event passes, gift cards, login credentials for apps and websites, and digital assets (like NFTs) in Samsung Wallet.
