The Galaxy Z TriFold is Samsung's first tri-folding phone. It has the biggest screen ever on a Galaxy phone, and it is being put to good use by offering several multitasking features that can improve your productivity. Samsung has enhanced multitasking features on it.
The 10-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x display is divided into three parts using two hinges. Each of those parts can run an app in portrait orientation. This means you can use three apps at the same time, and each of those apps appears in regular smartphone-sized windows, thereby maximizing your productivity. Several stock apps are optimized to take full advantage of the phone's tablet-sized display.
Other Galaxy Z series phones are limited to just two apps in their full-sized portrait windows.
The tri-folding phone can even run Samsung DeX on its own screen. This is Samsung's first phone that can do this. Earlier, this feature was limited to Galaxy tablets. In this mode, you can pair it with a wireless mouse and the recently launched Samsung Smart Keyboard to turn the phone into essentially a laptop. This new DeX is based on Android 16's Desktop Mode.
You can even extend the phone's DeX desktop environment when the device is connected to an external display, like a monitor or a TV.
To power all this, the phone needs a lot of processing power, and Samsung has equipped the Galaxy Z TriFold with the Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy processor, 16GB RAM, and 512GB or 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. It runs Android 16-based One UI 8.0 software.
