Last month, Samsung took the wraps off its first smartphone with a tri-folding display. However, it didn’t reveal the phone’s name, features, availability, or pricing. It just showcased the device in a glass showcase box, keeping people from knowing more about it.
Expected to arrive as the Galaxy Z TriFold, some people managed to check it out from all the angles, shedding light on some of its aspects. However, there’s still a lot we don’t know about the phone-tablet hybrid. Well, we now have some more information about the device, including its display size, battery capacity, thickness, launch date, and pricing.
A report from The Chosun Daily claims that the Galaxy Z TriFold has a 6.5-inch cover display and a 10-inch inner display. The device is said to be powered by a 5,600mAh battery, which is a lot bigger than the Galaxy Z Fold 7's 4,400mAh battery but still not ideal. The tri-folding device is reportedly 4.2mm thin when fully unfolded and 14mm when completely folded.
Furthermore, the report claims that Samsung will launch the phone on 5 December 2025 with a price tag of around KRW 4.4 million (~$3,000). The Galaxy Z TriFold could launch only in China and South Korea at first, and we've seen signs of Samsung preparing to launch the device in some additional markets, including the UAE.
We already know that the Galaxy Z TriFold features a triple-camera setup on the rear, a Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, 16GB RAM, and at least 256GB storage. It likely runs Android 16-based One UI 8 software out of the box. It could get seven major Android OS and One UI updates.
