Last week, Samsung announced its first software update of this year. The update was then released to the Galaxy A34 and the Galaxy A55. Now, the update has reached Samsung's latest dual-folding phones, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

The January 2026 security patch has started rolling out to the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in South Korea. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 update comes with firmware version F766NKSS7AYLT, while the update for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 comes bearing firmware version F966NKSS7AYLT.

This update brings fixes for a total of 55 security vulnerabilities in affected devices. These security loopholes were found in Android itself as well as in Samsung's own software.

If you live in South Korea and have any of the two devices mentioned above, you should check for the update and install it now. To do that, navigate to Settings > Software update on your phone and then tap Download and install. Once the update is fully downloaded, tap Install now. Your phone will then restart after a few minutes.

This update will likely be released to more phones and phones in other countries and regions within the next few days. Some regions will get the update earlier than the others. So, you don't need to be alarmed if you don't get the January 2026 security update right away.
