5G variant of OG Galaxy Z Flip gets August 2024 security update

The 5G variant of the original Galaxy Z Flip is getting the latest security update this week. This update brings just the August 2024 security patch to the phone. It can be identified by the build number F707BXXSFKXG1.

The update's rollout began in some European markets, and in a few days time, it should be available more widely. It probably won't come to the regular Galaxy Z Flip, as it was launched a few months before the 5G variant and stopped being eligible for updates earlier this year.

The August security update brings fixes for 50 security vulnerabilities that put Android devices at risk. As always, some of the vulnerabilities apply to every Android device and a few exclusively affect Galaxy smartphones. It also fixes a vulnerability that was discovered a few months back and raised serious concerns.

To download the latest update on your Galaxy Z Flip 5G, navigate to its Settings » Software update menu and tap the Download and install button. If you have a Windows PC, you can also update the phone over a USB connection and firmware files available on SamMobile.
