Last year, it was rumored that the Galaxy S26 series would include three models: Galaxy S26 Pro, Galaxy S26 Edge, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. However, later reports suggested that Samsung canceled the Galaxy S26 Edge due to low sales of the Galaxy S25 Edge. The company ended up sticking with to its traditional models: base, Plus, and Ultra. Now, rumors of a Pro model have resurfaced, this time for the Galaxy S27 series.
A new report from South Korea claims that Samsung is preparing four models for the Galaxy S27 lineup: Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27+, Galaxy S27 Pro, and Galaxy S27 Ultra. The Pro model is reportedly expected to feature the Privacy Display technology that debuted with the Galaxy S26 Ultra earlier this year. According to the report, the Galaxy S27 Pro will not include an S Pen, which will remain exclusive to the Galaxy S27 Ultra.
The Galaxy S27 Pro could also feature a 200MP primary camera, similar to the Galaxy S27 Ultra and the Galaxy Z Fold 8, bringing it closer to Samsung’s flagship-level camera performance. It remains unclear whether it will include a 50MP telephoto camera.
The move suggests that Samsung may be aligning its lineup more closely with Apple’s four-model iPhone strategy, which typically includes base, Plus/Mini/Air, Pro, and Pro Max variants. The Galaxy S27 Pro could feature a smaller display than the Ultra model but without an S Pen. The space typically reserved for the S Pen could instead be used for upgraded camera hardware or a larger battery.
Many Galaxy fans have long wanted a device that offers Ultra-level camera performance and battery capacity in a smaller form factor, without the S Pen. The Galaxy S27 Pro could be Samsung’s attempt to meet that demand.
